It is designed as a therapeutic shoe for laminitis, quarter cracks and hoof capsule support, the hybrid shoe is manufactured from engineered polyurethane that is approximately the same shore hardness of a hoof wall. D65, it has a tensile strength of 8760lb per square inch and flexural modulus strength and impact rebound of up to 40%; The shoe is 320% lighter than steel shoes of similar section & 15% lighter than Aluminium shoes; gives better shock absorption than either Steel or Aluminium shoes; the huge reduction in concussion and vibration it helps prevent injuries to hoof and leg joints.

The special steel insert allows the shoe to be shaped to the horse and farriers requirements; can be fitted in the traditional manner by nailing on, or glued in place. Recommended Glue for this shoe is Vettec Superfast or Adhere. In normal conditions can last up to twice as long as Aluminium shoes; approved by British Horse Racing Association.
