Lovely Victorian hand carved needlecase from the mid 1800s.

When sailors were on the ships they carved useful needlework tools for their loved ones back home. This is lovely example of carved bone, a needlecase with a simple yet so charming design.

This wonderful needle case measures 3.5 inches in length,still opens and closes perfectly, has a few old cracks consistent with age not felt so construction is sound and usable. It has that lovely original patina, just beautiful.
